Gumroad was changing. After years of being fully remote and async, Ershad, who'd been at Gumroad for 8 years, took over from Sahil Lavingia as CEO and was moving the team to an office in New York.

The New York office had just been renovated. Ershad wanted to grow the team, ship more, move faster, and make Gumroad the best creator platform in a world where AI keeps raising the bar. But there was nowhere to publish the open roles.
